Join us for a wonderful trip at Christmastime to the Historic City of Savannah! Where hospitality is warm and the tea is sweet!

December is such a magical time to visit Savannah. The Historic District looks like a scene straight out of a Dickens novel with flickering old gas lanterns. Forsyth Park and the beautiful squares will be decorated with greenery and red ribbons and it truly looks like a scene from a postcard.

Day 1 – 12/3:
marshal houseWe will travel by motor coach from Surfside Presbyterian Church to Savannah, GA and check into The Marshall House Historic Inn, built in 1851, for our 2 night stay. This mansion was once a hospital for Civil War soldiers, and during two yellow fever epidemics.

The Marshall House is located on Broughton Street — the main shopping street in Savannah — and it’s just two blocks away fromthe city’s official Christmas tree. The hotel looks beautiful year-round, but it’s particularly festive during the holidays. Later, we will board our Riverboat Dinner Cruise on a paddlewheel-style riverboat. This elegantly appointed riverboat cannot help but draw you back to a time when gentility and relaxation was always in vogue.

riverboatThe rest of the evening you are on your own. Maybe enjoy an ice cream at Leopold’s or explore the Savannah Riverfront, one of the city's most popular tourist destinations. River Street's cobblestone and brick-lined streets offer a unique glimpse into Savannah's past, from the Oglethorpe Landing monument, which marks the exact spot where General James Edward Oglethorpe landed in the port of Savannah in 1733, to the Steamship Savannah Marker, which recognizes the SS Savannah, the first steamship to cross the Atlantic.

Day 2 – 12/4:
After breakfast at The Marshall House, we will take a Trolley Tour of Savannah. Then for the rest of the day, you will have the Trolley Hop-On & Hop-Off option so you can explore the city as you would like and enjoy lunch, shopping, and an early dinner on your own.

There are so many sites to see while in this historic city including: taking a stroll along Savannah's Waterfront, visit Factors Row and Factors Walk, go inside the Telfair Academy Museum, have a meal at The Pirates' House, take a peek at the windows at The Paris Market and be sure to visit the City Market. There is so much to see and do, especially at Christmastime!

SavannahChristmasThere will be a complimentary wine reception at The Marshall House in the early evening, before we go as a group to the show “A Christmas Tradition” at the Savannah Theater. This is their 22nd year sharing all of your Christmas favorites!

Day 3 – 12/5:
After breakfast at The Marshall House, we will drive to Pooler, GA to visit the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force.

Eighth Air ForceThis museum’s purpose it to preserve for all Americans the stories of courage, character and patriotism displayed by the men and women of the Eighth Air Force from World War II to the present.
