Day 1: On our first day we travel to Asheville, NC with a stop along the way for lunch. Upon arrival we will check into our hotel before departing to the Biltmore Estate for a delightful dinner at the Deerpark Restaurant known for their southern cuisine served buffet-style.

After dinner, we tour the Biltmore House that greets you with the soft glow of hundreds of luminaries lining the driveway and a dazzling display of holiday lights adorning a towering Norway spruce. Inside, thousands of ornaments on dozens of Christmas trees reflect the flickering candlelight, firelight, and twinkle lights. Live performances of holiday music make for a magical evening. We will also visit the Antler Hill Village & Winery where the trees, buildings, and pathways are illuminated with a glittering cascade of lights, the fountain is aglow with special visual effects, and the champagne bubble ornament display that adorns the Winery’s Tasting Room ceiling is absolutely stunning!

DAY 2: After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for the Folk Arts Center that is home to the Southern Highland Craft Guild. The Center showcases traditional and contemporary crafts of the Southern Appalachians. It houses a permanent collection of approximately 250 works featuring woodcarving, textiles, furniture, basketry, pottery, dolls and other crafts of Southern Appalachia dating from 1855 to the late 20th century. Two other galleries feature changing exhibitions.

Daily demonstrations allow you to watch highly skilled craftspeople work and talk about their craft. Demonstrations are always changing but have included working with clay, building ceramics, creating decorative pottery, basketry, weaving and quilting, engraving and much more.

Make time to visit their amazing gift shop featuring handmade jewelry, pottery, ironwork, glass, baskets, prints and much more from members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. We will go back to the Biltmore House for lunch and free time to enjoy the gardens and shopping. Dinner is on your own with TGI Fridays restaurant located on site of the hotel.

DAY 3: Breakfast will be at the hotel before an early departure to head back home for an evening arrival, with a stop along the way for lunch.
